Went to restaurant after a high school graduation. Two wait staff assigned to support our large group. One of the wait staff was excellent the other was not. It took over an hour to get some people served. The delay in being served include drinks. Manager made know effort to check on us or communicate. When it came time to settle bill, it took over a half hour to split Bill and pay. The manager could have handled it better. His demeanor was not courteous or helpful. The excellent server was brought to tears by the manner the manger was trying to resolve bill. The experience was cast a shadow based on the service. Most of issues could have been remediate by the manager coming to inform us what was going on and helping us have a good experience. Problems happens all of the time, it's how they are resolved that matters.

We are from Ohio and visited this location at 11 pm and we can definitely say we won't be visiting there again. There was 1 employee who seated us and checked us out and he was very pleasant. He wished our friends a happy 1 monthaversary and he even offered to sing. Our waitress sucked. She spilled water on our table and didn't apologize and she was completely rude. She didn't check in with us regularly and it it took her 15 minutes to bring our drinks to our table! The food was nothing as described in the menu and it was soggy. We won't be revisiting during our stay in Virginia!

Great food, great value, friendly staff!!

We stopped at Denny's on Oct 13 for a quick lunch on our way to Virginia Tech from our home in Delaware. The restaurant was clean and we were seated promptly. Our server was pleasant and helpful. That's where the positive part of our dining experience ended. The problem seems to be in the kitchen. We were in a hurry to get back on the road but it took much too long for our food to be served even though there were not many people there. My husband's food was ok but the quesadillas I ordered were swimming in grease. I could only eat a few bites.

I did tell our server and she acknowledged that they were very greasy. She offered to have a new order prepared but we just didn't have the time to wait. When she brought the check we asked her to comp my order since I ate very little of the quesadillas. She was very apologetic but said she was allowed to do that. Unless you like your food saturated with grease, avoid this Denny's.

So I stopped in for breakfast after a five hour drive before I start my 8 and 2 split. I was seated promptly and my drink was on the table when I returned from washing my hands. There was one other patron in the restaurant and he was finishing up his meal. Although I has the only order in the window my pancakes were on the verge of turning brown from being over cooked. My pancake bites on the other hand were dark brown from being burnt and never should have been put on the table. When the waitress returned to ask if everything was okay I showed her the bites and she removed them from the table to have the cook make it right. When she returned with the new order the bites were worse than the first time. I stood at the register several minutes waiting to receive my bill and pay it. I asked that the bites be removed from the bill to which I was told she would have to CALL a manager and get permission as one was not in the restaurant . I presented my Denny's card for my discount and was told it could not be applied because she put a $2.99 promo on the bill to cover the bites or she would have to cover them. I told her to give me my bill and I would return when the manager decided to show up and I would handle it then. Looks like I will be back at least once but not sure I will go back again after that! One cook and one waitress with no manager! Are you serious!?!?!?!?!? On a positive note the waitress was very kind and understanding. It's too bad she got the short end of the stick where a manager is concerned. I worked in food service and this is just wrong!
